Constantly having to log back into TDameritrade

I like the Android IStockManager, but it could really use an update.

I use it all the time, and I have a list of wishes, but the main one is just to STAY LOGGED IN to TDam.

If I'm using the app and take a call or do anything to leave the app, I gotta log back in.

If I wanna get a new updated version of the chart, I gotta log back in.

This seems like a bug. By logging back in do you mean manually or the logging in that is done automatically when you choose to save your user/pass?
Do you have your user/pass saved?
To get the updated version of the chart you should have to go back to the main "Quotes" page and then click again on the symbol you were watching. This doesn't work?

- i have my user/pass saved, but the connection gets lost, and the data stops coming in. So i have to back up to the main screen, then hit "configure" and it will auto log my back in. Have to do this anytime i leave the app and come back.

that only works if i have gotten logged out and re-login. If i am on the same login session, if i go back to the quotes page, and hit chart again, i get the loading symbol, which just spins forever until i logout, log back in, etc.

it tries to refetch the data it seems, but hangs up

Still seems that this would be alot more intuitive with an option on the chart page itself to "refresh" or have a auto-refresh interval setting.

a clock in the corner showing the last loaded data would also help- lets me know how fresh the data im looking at is (similar to the google finance charts)

i grabbed the new version today, will report back if anything changed.

update: so far it seesm to be redrawing the chart if i back out and come back- so thats better for now

still would be better with a button on the page to refresh, rather than have to hit menu or back button then go forward again.

Some feedback..

The charts do refresh better now- I still have to back up to the main screen, and then turn back around to where i started to get it to refresh (a dedicated refresh button, or menu>refresh at least, would be best)

BUT

the logging out of TDAmeritrade remains as it was.

If im watching the market, and then go to the home screen and do something else for awhile and come back to ISM, it needs to log back into TDa.. it doesnt seem to keep the connection live and pulling in data.

It would be rad if it could keep the feed live and had an option to ticker the stocks across the windowshade at the top or something.. but just keeping the stream live and running in the background would be good.. Pandora has a seeting that if the app isnt used for X minutes it will close the stream. Something like that could work as well for security.

Charts - streaming charts will be included in the next version

When you leave iSM the streaming is stopped intentionally to reduce battery usage, and when you come back to iSM the streaming is supposed to restart automatically, without a need to a login. When you come back to ISM does it show you the "loggin in..." progress?

What is probably happening is that the OS is killing the iSM app. It does this when it runs of out of memory, killing applications that are not on the foreground. We could improve the login cache to make sure you don't have to login again on these cases.

I am having in the same problem too on my Motorola Droid phone. I have to keep logging back in everytime I leave the iStock program.
